2017 Friends Membership Drive

We Need You – friends are always wanted, needed and very welcomed here at the Smyth-Bland Regional Library in Marion, VA! Our membership dues, contributions, and book sales fund support for:

1.  Our library programs for children from birth through 18 years old

                              *Weekly Storytime for children ages 3 and above

                              *Weekly Two-Gether Time for age 6-36 months

       *Bi-monthly programs for private and public pre-schools, public special needs children and teen-agers.

                              *Monthly Teen Tuesdays for grades 6-12

                              *Summer Reading programs and special events for all ages

                              *Downtown Halloween Madness

                              *Christmas with Santa

               2.  Our library programs of interest to adults

                              *Book talks and signings by local authors

                              *Speakers on local history and genealogy

                              *Speakers from museums, theatres, civic organizations, from local government, etc.              

               3.  Library Staff Development and Training

               4.  The Sherwood Anderson Short Story Contest

 

Our Friends encourage and welcome gifts, endowments and bequests to the Library.

Our Friends are advocates at local and state levels in support of funding for our Smyth-Bland Regional Library.  We promote our library’s excellent services and activities in our community and we are committed to the continuation of that level of excellence.
